Vitamin D is actually a hormone, not a vitamin, that influences almost every cell in your body! It has been shown to be a powerful cancer fighter. Everyone should be trying to increase their Vitamin D-you can do this by getting more sun exposure WITHOUT sunscreen (only need about 10-15 minutes!) so just walking to and from work without sunscreen all over your body will increase your levels. You can also take a supplement, just make sure it’s Vitamin D3, not D2 which is synthetic. There’s a lot of debate on how much you need, I’ve settled on about 1000 IU. So, even if you’re fair skinned, make sure you’re allowing your skin to absorb this amazing nutrient from the sun for a little bit of time each day!
